Great examples! I’ll add a sleeper: the use of the slow movement of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto in Peter Weir’s *Picnic at Hanging Rock.*

Thanks John. I had forgotten this great movie, made in 1975. Was still a student then! The movie also includes some great pan-pipes from Gheorge Zamfir.

Yes, the contrast between the pan flute and the Beethoven is stirring. I show this film to students from time to time.
